6 Rutgers Students Are Charged With Operating a Narcotics Ring

This week, six Rutgers University undergraduates and one graduate were accused of operating a sophisticated drug ring. They allegedly sold drugs to other Scarlet Knights via a “private social media network.” Prosecutors in New Jersey claim that Anudeep Revuri, a 23-year-old RU alumni from New Brunswick, created the closed network that the group used to distribute drugs to other Rutgers students. Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said in a statement that “narcotics distributors could post menus for drugs and solicit buyers from within the Rutgers University community” via the social networking app. Over several months, Ciccone oversaw “Operation RU Pharm” and stated: “Rutgers students who established their affiliation with the school were allowed to join the network and once given access, they were able to browse menus posted by distributors and contact them in order to negotiate purchases,”  Anudeep Revuri Significant quantities of cocaine, LSD, marijuana, psilocybin or “magic” mushrooms, Adderall, and Xanax were found by police during the bust.
