Police Commissioner Crusita Descartes Pelius has confirmed that an investigation is underway into the leakage on social media of an internal Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), document highlighting death threats against officers. “It’s a serious matter and of course, it cannot go by unnnoticed. It is under investigation,” the Police Commissioner told reporters., adding that ‘appropriate action’ would be taken. However, Pelius would not be drawn into revealing whether the probe was internal or involved outsiders. The leaked internal police document outlined measures to address the threats against officers and contained photographs of alleged members of a named gang. The Police Commissioner said other organisations need to take such leakages seriously. Pelius, whose current one-year contract ends on August 31, spoke regarding succession. “We are working on that and this you will know in due course,” she stated. In addition, she responded to whether she would wish to continue in the position. “I have worked hard for Saint Lucia and I am satisfied with what I have done for this country,” the Police Commissioner declared.
