Free Haircuts and Backpacks at Acclivus Back-to-School Event

As the 2025-26 academic year approaches with an earlier start date, many families may welcome support in preparing their children for the first day. On Sunday, August 17, community violence intervention leader Acclivus, Inc. will offer complimentary haircuts, hairstyling, backpacks, and school supplies to youth aged 5–17 across seven barbershops and salons.In collaboration with 3rd Ward Alderman Pat Dowell and State Senator Mattie Hunter, the Acclivus Back to School Party aims to ease the financial strain on families facing challenging budgets and to bolster the confidence of young students as they prepare for school.
