Additional disaster recovery center to open in Dallas County

(Special to The Dallas Examiner) – The Federal Emergency Management Agency in coordination with the Texas Division of Emergency Management, Dallas County and our municipalities, has opened an additional Disaster Recovery Center in Dallas County to provide one-on-one help to those affected by the severe storms, high winds and power outages in May.Related Stories “The Disaster Recovery Center at the Dallas College Mountain View Campus will provide access for individuals in South and West Dallas County to visit one-on-one with representatives from FEMA, the Small Business Administration, as well as with our nonprofit partners regarding damages sustained from the May storm,” said Dallas County Judge Clay Lewis Jenkins. “The deadline to apply for assistance has been extended to Aug. 15, 2024, and I encourage all residents who have storm damage to visit a Disaster Recovery Center in person or look online at www.disasterassistance.gov to see what resources are available.”The center is located at the Dallas College Mountain View campus, Room E121 – gymnasium, at 4849 W.
