The mural was originally painted by artist Cherine Mendoza in July 2020 to honor Guillen, a Fort Cavazos solider who was murdered on post earlier that year. Last week, the backside of the Vanessa Guillen mural located at 904 N. Fort Hood St. in Killeen was tagged with graffiti.
