Chris Kluwe, a former NFL punter, was detained and escorted out of a Southern California City Council meeting on Tuesday after objecting to a plan to have a plaque at a local library that would have referenced Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” campaign. Plans to add a commemorative plaque to honor the library’s 50th anniversary were approved earlier this month by the Huntington Beach Community and Library Services Commission. The Huntington Beach City Council had to provide its final clearance for the plaque’s design, which featured two American flags, the names of current council members and other city officials, and an acrostic reading: “Magical. Alluring. Galvanizing. Adventurous.” Chris Kluwe’s viral speech Kluwe, who has lived in Huntington Beach for 15 years, was among the locals who were outraged by the plaque right away.
