The Sacramento Office of Arts and Culture is currently accepting applications for the 2026 Emerging Curators Fellowship, a valuable opportunity for emerging curators to develop and present exhibitions at the Robert T. Matsui Gallery located within City Hall. This year-long fellowship is designed to provide one selected participant with a stipend, expert mentorship from an experienced curator, and financial backing for the creation of two exhibitions, each displayed for a duration of four months. Targeting the cultivation of talent in visual arts curation, the initiative aims to assist individuals who may lack access to standard resources such as exhibition spaces and funding. "The fellowship provides emerging curators with essential tools, an exhibition platform, and mentorship to bring their artistic visions to life,” noted Susanna Tu, the Arts Program Coordinator for the City. Eligible candidates must be 18 or older, reside within a 50-mile radius of Sacramento, and have limited curatorial experience, with applications closing on September 15, 2025.
