“We’re back!” says Dallas Sims, of G2G-Kwanz Opp. “This is our second time coming out to Texas with Jarid and Great Plains Restoration Council. We’re looking forward to working with the local youth to help revitalize Fort Worth’s native prairie ecosystem, making it easier for its biosphere to function happily. Watch us work!”& Last year, Gangstas to Growers worked with GPRC in West Texas to help improve the native grassland for buffalo and prairie dogs at Caprock Canyon State Park in Quitaque, Texas.& Gangstas to Growers is an Atlanta-based paid agriculture program for at-risk youth and young adults focusing on education, holistic growing, and valuable business techniques. From these areas, a co-operative organization “Kwanz-Opp” was established to focus on land restoration.& Great Plains Restoration Council is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Fort Worth that helps people take care of their own health through restoring and protecting native ecosystems, particularly damaged prairies, plains, and waters.
