Bordelais Correctional Facility (BCF) was putting ‘additional measures’ in place to prevent further violence after a male inmate attacked another on Sunday, sources have disclosed. But officials would not go into details. The alleged perpetrator attacked the victim with an improvised weapon, inflicting multiple injuries. As a result, the victim, who was on remand regarding a firearm-related offence, had to be rushed to a medical facility where he was in stable condition. A Department of Home Affairs statement on Sunday’s BCF incident said prison officers responded swiftly to an altercation involving two inmates during a routine recreation break for the Remand Block. The statement said the officers quelled the altercation, ensuring the safety of other inmates.
