A courageous Black Army veteran has garnered recognition for intervening during a tense incident on a flight. Nicole Pruitt was aboard a Delta Airlines journey from Atlanta to Tucson, Arizona, en route to visit her son and grandchild when a disruptive female passenger attempted to breach the cockpit.“This woman came all the way from the back,” Pruitt recounted in a TikTok video shared by her son, Tyrique Perry. “She stated she didn’t want to be on the plane anymore.” Pruitt observed as the unruly passenger aggressively pushed flight attendants, proclaiming, “I have a feeling, and God told me to do it.” “I stashed my earphones in the seat pocket and informed the person beside me, ‘Excuse me, I’m going to handle this right now,’” Pruitt explained. In response to the desire for her story, a GoFundMe was established to support Pruitt, reflecting community appreciation for her bravery.
