Black Men’s Health & Wellness Summit set for Sept. 14

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The 2024 Black Men’s Heath and Wellness Summit is set for Saturday, Sept. 14, according to an announcement from 100 Black Men of Coastal North Carolina, Inc.
The free event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at International Longshoremen’s Association Local 1426, 1305 S 5th Ave. in Wilmington. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m.
“Please join us to hear from physicians and other experts who promote health and wellness for black men in our communities. Attendees will benefit from free onsite health screenings, wellness vendors, education, and other resources. Please bring your friends and loved ones to promote awareness of our health risks and preventive opportunities,” the announcement states.
Lunch and morning refreshments will be provided.
Dr. Umar Bowers is set to be the event’s keynote speaker. Doctors John Belle, Tony Blue and Christopher Jarrett are also set to speak.
