The Carnegie Classifications of Higher Education, in collaboration with the American Council on Education, has unveiled a new Student Access and Earnings Classification. This initiative evaluates how well institutions enroll students from their communities and whether graduates achieve competitive salaries compared to their peers. Institutions achieving high access and earnings are termed “Opportunity Colleges and Universities,” serving as exemplars in promoting student success. Among the 479 such recognized schools, 11 are historically Black institutions:
