Mark your calendars for Aug. 24 as the Chreece Hip-Hop Festival makes its return. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever, showcasing the vibrant culture and diverse artistry of the genre. Held in Indianapolis’ historic Fountain Square neighborhood, Chreece isn’t the typical music festival; it’s a full-fledged cultural takeover with more than 70 local and national hip-hop and R&B artists, DJs and producers gracing the stages across seven unique venues. Congressman Andre Carson is thankful for what Chreece brings to, as well as out of, the community. Curren$y has carved a space for himself in the underground scene, collaborating with industry giants like Wiz Khalifa and Gary, Indiana native Freddie Gibbs.
