Cincinnati Public Schools Launch Initiative Prioritizing Student Well-Being

The Cincinnati Public School District commenced its 2025-2026 academic year on Wednesday, August 20, welcoming K-12 students as Superintendent Shauna Murphy underscores the district's dedication to student welfare amid new expectations and funding hurdles discussed during an August 15 press conference.Cincinnati Public Schools is ready to accommodate over 35,000 students, nearly matching pre-pandemic enrollment figures. Notably, Black students represent 84% of the district's enrollment, according to Murphy.Board Vice President Eve Bolton remarked, “We are embarking on a completely reorganized, restructured phase to better serve our kids.”Murphy addressed transportation updates, the introduction of five new middle schools, and essential parent information.
