A significant blighted site, previously plagued by multiple fires, has been demolished following a lawsuit initiated by the Birmingham City Attorney's Office. The property, known as The Vue on Prince located at 3128 Prince Avenue, was taken down last week by crews representing the owners. “This serves as a testament to our commitment to eliminating blight in our neighborhoods,” stated Mayor Randall L. Woodfin. “We hold property owners accountable through legal means when they neglect community standards.” Recently, the city filed a lawsuit against Norwood Plaza Apartments, LLC, and Tutwiler Realty, Inc., aiming to declare the property a drug-related and public nuisance under Alabama law. City Attorney Nicole King underscored the team's dedication to eradicating properties that threaten public safety.
