The Hamilton County Planning Partnership held its annual gathering and awards presentation on Friday, May 16, celebrating notable contributions to community development. The Village of Lockland was awarded the prestigious Frank F. Ferris Award for its innovative West Wyoming Corridor: Business District Improvement Strategy. This initiative aims to enhance the area's physical environment, aesthetics, and safety, ultimately fostering economic growth and a vibrant community atmosphere. Village Administrator Doug Wehmeyer, alongside Perkins & Will consultants Andrew Broderick and Todd Snapp, accepted the award.
Retired Chair of the Cincinnati City Planning Commission, Byron Stallworth, received the Melvin D. Martin Award, recognizing his invaluable contributions to urban planning. His efforts on transformative initiatives like TQL Stadium and the BLINK festival have greatly enriched the community. Stallworth also played a crucial role in establishing the University of Cincinnati’s African American Cultural Resource Center and served as the Director of Government Affairs at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.
