Darris Takes the Helm at the National Rural Education Association

Darris Means has been appointed president-elect designate of the National Rural Education Association (NREA). A professor at Clemson University, he will serve a five-year term, transitioning through various leadership roles. NREA, established in 1907, champions rural education by supporting stakeholders dedicated to enhancing rural school systems. Through his research, Dr. Means addresses educational opportunity gaps, specifically in STEM, targeting underserved populations. With a strong academic background from Elon, Clemson, and North Carolina State University, he brings extensive experience from prior positions at the University of Pittsburgh and University of Georgia.
