Two teenagers from New Mexico have been charged with murder following the alleged fatal shooting of a homeless man in his tent last month. The incident occurred after the victim, 23-year-old Christopher Sturluson, requested the youths to cease firing shots into a nearby creek. City personnel from the Albuquerque Community Safety Department discovered Sturluson deceased in his tent behind an apartment complex on May 1. Prior to this, he had informed officers that individuals were shooting in his direction. Utilizing an acoustic sensor system, police identified that ten gunshots were discharged shortly before 9 p.m. on April 30, followed by six additional shots. Surveillance footage captured the suspects, identified as 18-year-old Joshua Curtis and 17-year-old Adrian Brown, approaching Sturluson’s tent shortly before midnight. Both teenagers face significant charges, including first-degree murder, and will be tried as adults, with concerns about their past criminal activities highlighted by authorities.
