A youth football team in Pennsylvania has suspended part of its season following reports of racial harassment directed at its Black players by a rival team during a game. As reported by WPMT, disparaging remarks and racial slurs were allegedly directed at the Seven Sorrows Eagles by players from the Boiling Springs Bubblers last month. Coach Percy Maple mentioned that specific players of color faced derogatory comments. One player’s mother, Brittany Smith, recounted an incident where a Bubblers player allegedly pushed an Eagle to the ground, followed by racist taunts.Eagles' parents confronted the Bubblers’ coach, leading to their removal by security. Complaints to the Capital Football Association (CFA) resulted in penalties for the Eagles rather than the Bubblers. The league imposed a two-game suspension on the Eagles, which later escalated to three games, impacting over 220 young athletes. Following the incident, CFA released a statement condemning racism and emphasizing the need for a safe, inclusive environment. Meanwhile, the Eagles are seeking scrimmage opportunities to keep their players engaged. (Photo: YouTube screenshot/Fox43)
