NASHVILLE, TN (August 5, 2025) – FirstGen Forward, which previously operated as the Center for First-generation Student Success, proudly welcomed Fisk University among sixty newly inducted members of the FirstGen Forward Network for the 2025–26 academic year. Fisk's acceptance reflects its robust dedication to enhancing experiences and promoting success for first-generation college attendees.“Supporting first-generation students is integral to Fisk University’s mission and heritage. By joining the FirstGen Forward Network, we aim to cultivate a collaborative culture of empowerment, expand mentorship and career opportunities, and strengthen community ties,” stated Tiffany Steward, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success.The FirstGen Forward Network employs a strategic, three-phase approach focused on enhancing student experiences, academic performance, and inclusive institutional practices. Since its inception, 489 institutions from 49 states and D.C. have become Network members.
