Former President Barack Obama Will Campaign in Detroit for Kamala Harris Tuesday

Democrats have been hitting the campaign trails hard – particularly in Michigan and other swing states – for current Vice President and presidential-hopeful Kamala Harris, and the visits won’t stop between now and Nov. 5. Add to the list of Kamala campaigners, former President Barack Obama. Obama will be in Michigan Tuesday, Oct. 22, speaking to voters about the importance of electing Harris for president. His visit will coincide with the beginning of Michigan’s early voting period. The announcement of Obama’s visit comes a day after Harris completed a sit-down interview with media personality and The Breakfast Club host Charlamagne Tha God at iHeart Radio’s Detroit studio. The hour-long special, called “We the People” addressed Harris’ new Opportunity Agenda for Black Men, among other topics. Additionally, she took questions spanning topics including lowering costs and strengthening the economy, criminal justice reform, expanding access to health care, protecting civil rights, and more over the course of over an hour. She called out Donald Trump for being a “weak” and “unfit” leader who has sought the approval of dictators and demeaned America’s military, and warned about the dangers of his Project 2025 agenda for Black Americans.
