Three men and a woman sustained multiple injuries in two separate motorcycle collisions with vehicles at the weekend.
The Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) responded to the first incident on Saturday at Rodney Bay and found a male and a female ‘conscious and oriented’ near the roadside.
The duo reported riding off the road after an oncoming vehicle struck them.
The SLFS emergency responders assessed, treated and transported the two to a medical facility for further medical care.
On Sunday, SLFS emergency personnel responded to another collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle, this time at Vanard.
The responders found two men in their twenties who had sustained injuries, including fractures, lying on the ground.
The SLFS crew treated the injuries and transported the patients to a medical facility for advanced medical care.
According to SLFS data, emergency personnel transported over 1000 individuals to medical facilities after road incidents this year, which saw over 800 emergency responses.
There were 678 responses for 2023.
