Reviving Traditions: Freedom Center Celebrates Juneteenth with an Exciting Jubilee Street Festival

The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center is transforming Freedom Way into a vibrant street festival to honor freedom once more. The second annual Juneteenth Jubilee will take place on June 19, showcasing lively music, food trucks, a variety of community vendors, and engaging health and financial workshops. Families can look forward to a plethora of interactive activities for children, while entrance to the Freedom Center remains complimentary. “Juneteenth symbolizes a day of celebration—not only for the many enslaved individuals who finally attained liberty but also for their descendants and allies of every descent who have journeyed closer to the ideals upon which this nation was built,” states Woodrow Keown Jr., the center's president and COO. Attendees can enjoy performances, savor culinary delights from over 20 vendors, and explore new exhibits, notably "In This Place," which traces the legacy of early freedom seekers.
