Graffiti, tattoos and bumper stickers

I have always loved a catchy, creative bumper sticker, and my daily drive in Boone traffic gives me a front row seat to read and often chuckle at the messages that adorn many of the vehicles trekking through the mountains. I read stickers while I’m stuck in traffic, and I cannot help but ponder what it is that motivates the people behind the wheel of these moving paper messages. The art of bumper stickers reminds me of graffiti and tattoos. They have meaning for those displaying them, and when they are new and shiny, they look great, but they do not always age well. They are also a lot easier to stick on than scrape off.
