The transformative exhibition, A Prescription for Change, has been extended until April 26, 2025, at the Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia (BHMVA) in Richmond. Curated by historian Elvatrice Parker Belsches, it employs compelling narratives, striking images, and rare artifacts to chronicle the contributions of Blacks in healthcare from the 1700s to today, showcasing representation from every region of Virginia, including Tidewater medical practitioners and pioneering Black hospitals like Norfolk Community and Whittaker Memorial.
