On April 18, Norfolk State University (NSU) commenced the construction of its $118 million New Science Building in collaboration with Work Program Architects (WPA), SmithGroup, and S.B. Ballard Construction. This innovative 131,376-square-foot structure will replace the Roy A. Woods Science Building, featuring advanced teaching and research laboratories, classrooms, a planetarium, a greenhouse, and makerspaces, all designed to enhance student collaboration. The building's adaptable design aligns with NSU’s aspirational vision for progressive science education.
