Over 150 middle and high school girls from Indiana convened Friday at The AMP at 16 Tech, joining for inspiration, empowerment, and vital career insights. The event, “I Can Be That” Girls Empowerment: Sports Edition, was orchestrated by the 16 Tech Community Corporation in collaboration with the WNBA All-Star 2025 Host Committee. Its mission was to demonstrate to young women, especially from underserved backgrounds, the vast potential of sports and related professions.Participants from Indianapolis Public Schools and surrounding districts engaged in interactive sessions, receiving mentorship from distinguished women leaders in sports and business. Topics covered ranged from advanced manufacturing to healthcare, aiming to boost self-esteem and open doors to new career paths. “This is about expanding their vision,” remarked Holli Harrington, a prominent organizer, emphasizing the importance of inclusion. The series promises to continue inspiring future female leaders across Indiana.
