Celebrating Loving Day: Indianapolis International Center Commemorates Diversity and Love

The International Center, in partnership with former Mayor Greg Ballard, is proudly presenting the second annual Loving Day Celebration in Indianapolis. This significant gathering honors the historic Supreme Court case, Loving v. Virginia, which, in 1967, eradicated prohibitions on interracial marriage across states. Set for June 7 from 1-3 p.m. at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the event is expected to radiate community warmth and affection. "This amazing occasion epitomizes joy and togetherness," Ballard remarked, underscoring the importance of this pivotal moment in history and the enduring strength of love. Attendees can look forward to a diverse culinary experience, vibrant live music, and an exciting Motown dance floor, along with family-oriented activities and a marketplace showcasing local artisans. Additionally, captivating video segments will feature local couples who embody the Loving spirit, and participants will have the opportunity to renew their vows in a ceremony led by Ballard.
