Shocking Incident: Black Kentucky Woman Removed from Car at Crime Scene While Passengers Remain Trapped Inside

Kearie Watts, a 23-year-old Black woman from Kentucky, encountered a distressing ordeal after mistakenly driving through an unsecured crime scene. Leaving her grandmother’s house post-Mother’s Day celebration, she was abruptly pulled from her vehicle by a furious police officer who alleged she was obstructing their investigation. Unaware of any ongoing activity, particularly since no yellow crime tape had been erected, Watts felt bewildered. As she was yanked from the car, it rolled away with her friends inside, leading her friend Veah Kinslow to exclaim, “The car is still driving!” Watts sustained a leg injury and incurred $200 in damages to her vehicle. Following this traumatic incident, she has engaged legal representation, ardently advocating for accountability and change within the Louisville Metro Police Department.
