November 26, 1963 – May 17, 2025Jeffery Wayne Sellers was born on November 26, 1963, at Homestead Air Force Base in Florida to Melvin and Norma Sellers. As the child of a Coast Guard Lieutenant, he spent his formative years in numerous locations, eventually establishing roots in Lakeland, Florida. Growing up, Jeffery exhibited a passion for knowledge, often seen with an encyclopedia during his time at Ferndale Baptist School. He later studied English at the University of South Florida, aspiring to convey narratives within the film realm. For 32 years, he thrived at The Indianapolis Recorder, enhancing community storytelling through art direction while cultivating relations with various sponsors. A devoted family man, Jeffery cherished time spent with his wife Tysha and their three kids. His zest for life encompassed an eclectic taste in films and music, coupled with an unwavering enthusiasm for learning. Despite his health struggles, he remained a beacon of positivity and kindness, ultimately touching the lives of many. Jeffery is survived by his father Mel, brother Bob, wife Tysha, son Raphael, daughters Gabrielle and Anna, and dog Cici.
