Eight talented athletes have earned the opportunity to represent Saint Lucia at the upcoming NACAC Age Group Championships next month. These elite competitors were selected from a robust pool of nearly 40 participants during last weekend's qualifying event at Soufriere Stadium, with only the top two in each category advancing to the regional finals in Nicaragua. This prestigious event allows them to showcase their prowess among the region's most promising young athletes.The NACAC-organized Championships cater to competitors under 15 and 13, serving as a significant platform that has nurtured talents like Olympic champion Julien Alfred and CARIFTA gold medalist Jady Emmanuel.The Saint Lucian squad, set to leave for Nicaragua on July 5-6, comprises:Under-15 Boys Heptathlon: Randall Monroe and Armani Phillips (Saint Lucia Sports Academy and Sprint Tech).Under-15 Girls Heptathlon: Lovelle Sonson and Aria Andrew (Saint Lucia Sports Academy).Under-13 Girls Pentathlon: Kurtege Alfred and Asia Flood.Under-13 Boys Pentathlon: Christiano Nestor and Israel Evans.
