Former President Joe Biden officially exited the race on July 21, 2024, endorsing Harris as the Democratic nominee. This endorsement afforded her 107 days to mount a historic presidential run, ultimately culminating in a loss to current President Donald Trump. “A little over a year ago, I initiated my campaign for President of the United States. 107 days traversing the nation, advocating for our future — the briefest presidential campaign in contemporary history,” Harris mentioned in a video announcement. “Since departing office, I’ve devoted much time to reflecting on that period, crafting a candid, behind-the-scenes narrative of that experience,” she added. “107 Days is a gripping narrative,” asserted Simon & Schuster's CEO Jonathan Karp.
