The National League of Cities appointed Vice Mayor Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney and Councilmember Anna Albi to provide strategic direction and guidance for NLC’s federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities.
Councilmember Albi was appointed to serve on the Human Development Federal Advocacy Committee to address workforce development, education, early childhood, public health care, mental health parity, immigration reform and more.
“I’m excited and honored to join the NLC Human Development Federal Advocacy Committee,” said Albi. “As we think about what we need to foster safe communities, we know how important it is to support social services around jobs, child care and health care, including increased access to mental health care. For me, addressing the gun violence epidemic means tackling these systemic issues.”
Vice Mayor Kearney has been appointed& to& the Large Cities Council Committee to develop and guide programs among local elected officials from similar communities. As a member of NLC’s Large Cities Council, Kearney will play a key role among a diverse group of leaders to encourage collaboration, networking and the development of resources and programs that can be replicated across the country.
