A promising young NFL athlete, Kelvin Joseph Jr., was apprehended in Texas following a tragic accident resulting in a fatality. The former cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys was arrested early Saturday morning after the death of a 27-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Cody Morris, in Richardson, Texas. According to a statement from the Richardson Police Department, authorities were called to the scene around 5 AM and found Morris deceased. Notably, only Joseph's BMW was present at the site. Approximately forty minutes later, Joseph reached out to Plano Police, reporting that he had been involved in an accident with the motorcycle. During the interaction, officers observed signs of intoxication, leading to his arrest. He now faces charges of driving while intoxicated, resulting in death or serious injury. As of Saturday afternoon, Joseph remains in custody with no bond set. Originally drafted by the Cowboys in 2021, Joseph has played for several teams, currently signed with the DC Defenders.
