According to ESPN, NFL running back Nick Chubb, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, is set to finalize a one-year deal with the Houston Texans this Monday. Before the signing can proceed, Chubb must successfully complete a physical examination. Should he join, he would bolster an already dynamic Texans rushing unit comprising two-time Pro Bowler Joe Mixon, Dameon Pierce, Dare Ogunbowale, and promising fourth-round pick Woody Marks from USC. Chubb, originally drafted in the second round out of Georgia in 2018, concluded his seven-year tenure with the Cleveland Browns, where he ranks third all-time in rushing yards (6,843). His previous season was marred by injuries; after a significant knee injury sidelined him for the first half of 2024, he returned to score against the Bengals but faced another setback with a broken foot. Texas looks to reinstate Chubb’s peak performance alongside Mixon, who logged 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. NFL Network first reported the impending signing.
