Celebrations to mark Saint Lucia’s 46th Independence Anniversary celebrations will continue next weekend with the Laborie Music Festival. Organised by the Anse Kawet Crafters and the Laborie/Augier Constituency Council, the free event will take place on Sunday, 2 March, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Papel Craft Centre near Rudy John Beach and will showcase a mix of traditional and contemporary performances. Folk bands, cultural groups La Marguerite and La Rose, and special guest artists will perform. In addition to live music, the festival will include craft displays, food and drink vendors, face painting, and stilt walkers. The first few attendees will receive complimentary drinks. The festival is sponsored by the Taiwan Technical Mission and the Ministry of Commerce, Manufacturing, Business Development, Cooperatives, and Consumer Affairs. It will highlight Saint Lucian heritage while providing a platform for local artisans and performers.
