Lecrae Supports Atlanta Youth Through Back-to-School Event With City Takers

On July 21, Grammy-winning artist Lecrae Devaughn Moore merged music with community service at an album listening event in Atlanta. This gathering transformed into a back-to-school backpack initiative, held at the City Takers headquarters, where volunteers united to assemble 1,000 backpacks filled with essential school supplies for students in need.Moore’s forthcoming album, “Reconstruction,” was premiered at this community-focused event. Attendees enjoyed the first five tracks while Moore shared insights about each song, his spiritual path, and his experiences with addiction. City Takers' founder, Scott Free, reflected on their long-standing friendship and shared commitment to uplifting Atlanta's underserved communities. He founded City Takers to address the gap between conventional church practices and community support, emphasizing a holistic approach to outreach.The backpacks will be handed out during a special event on July 26 at Cascade Family Skating, further demonstrating the impact of collaborative mission efforts.
