His career transitioned from English teaching to the realm of science, ultimately guiding students through the EEC’s diverse offerings, including nature trails and observatories.Monroe’s deep-rooted passion for the outdoors stems from his upbringing in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, where he cultivated a lifelong love for nature. His teachings emphasized stewardship, urging students to understand the planet they will someday protect. With Monroe’s impending retirement due to health concerns, his lasting impact is evident as former students, now educators, express gratitude for his influence.
