Saint Lucia’s cricket landscape is flourishing, with the promising coach Dalton Polius leading the charge. Recently honored at the Saint Lucia National Cricket Association awards, Polius has embarked on his first head coaching position with the Windward Islands Under-15 team, in addition to participating in a Cricket West Indies training camp. For the 35-year-old ex-off-spinner and graduate of Castries Comprehensive Secondary School, these achievements signify a remarkable shift in the region's cricket dynamics. “Collaborating with seasoned coaches and skilled youth was immensely beneficial,” he stated. In his role as an assistant at the Saint Lucia Cricket High Performance Centre (HPC), Polius is mentoring leg-spinners like Cody Fontinelle and Isiah Jones. With enhanced representation in regional competitions, Polius and the HPC are crucially nurturing talent, heralding a bright future for Saint Lucia cricket.
