Fraternity Celebrates Achievements with Glamorous Local Awards Dinner

The Zeta Beta Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity recently hosted its inaugural scholarship and awards ceremony since the pandemic, celebrating Black excellence at Sacramento State University. President Dr. Luke Wood, a fraternity member, emphasized the need for change to enhance Black student experiences. The event honored ten scholars and recognized notable community figures, including Cassandra Jennings and Larry Lee. With nearly 500 attendees, the ceremony underscored the significance of the “Divine Nine” in fostering educational empowerment and brotherhood.
