THE AWARDEES AT THE ANNUAL LEGACY AWARDS LUNCHEON
& After a four-year hiatus, once again women 80 years of age or older were honored, celebrated and recognized by the local Rankin/Mon Valley/Pittsburgh Section of the National Council of Negro Women.
The New Pittsburgh Courier has learned that March 23, 2024, marked the return of their annual Legacy Awards Luncheon at The Rivers Club at One Oxford Centre. Fourteen phenomenal women received high praises for their outstanding service to women, their families, and communities.
MEMBERS OF ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY INCORPORATED
The women recognized for their commitment and dedication included Dr. Elayne Arrington, Dr. Shirley Biggs, Aralessa Davis Bush, Francis Barr Butts, Alice Paylor Dais, Patricia Ann English, Cecelia Epperson, Georgia Dunn George, Mildred Glenn, Elizabeth Harris, Marcella Lee-Wilson, Beverly Doyle Shropshire Lowe, Althea Skelton, and Signora Watson. The theme of the evening was “Celebrating History, Service, and Sisterhood.”
