Malcolm-Jamal Warner, acclaimed actor renowned for portraying Theodore Huxtable on “The Cosby Show,” has passed away at 54. According to sources, Warner tragically drowned while vacationing with his family in Costa Rica. The incident occurred around 2:30 PM local time at Playa Grande, near Cahuita, when a current swept him out into the sea. Despite efforts from beachgoers to assist him, the Red Cross later pronounced him dead.
Originating from New Jersey, Warner began his acting career at just nine, joining productions like “Fame.” His most notable role came in the hit series that aired from 1984 to 1992. Warner often reflected on the sitcom's impact, highlighting its significance in showcasing the Black middle class.
In addition to acting, he was a Grammy-winning musician, capturing Best Traditional R&B Performance in 2015. Warner remained active in the entertainment industry until his untimely death, with tributes pouring in from fellow actors and friends.
