Maria Taylor Takes the Helm as Lead Studio Host for NBA and WNBA on NBC

Maria Taylor has been appointed as the new studio host as NBC prepares to broadcast the NBA and WNBA starting in 2026. The Atlanta native will lead NBA programming on Sunday and Tuesday evenings alongside esteemed analysts such as Carmelo Anthony and Vince Carter. In addition, Taylor will present WNBA games on NBC and Peacock, with coverage commencing in spring 2026.
Furthermore, Taylor has signed a new contract with NBC.
Expressing her excitement, Taylor stated, “I’m deeply honored to be part of NBC Sports’ incredible legacy covering the NBA and to return to the game that first captured my heart, women’s basketball. Spending the next five years with my NBC family is a dream come true.”
NBC Sports will introduce Sunday Night Basketball across its platforms starting February 1. Peacock will also provide exclusive live streams of Monday night games beginning this fall.
Taylor joined NBC in 2021 following her tenure at ESPN, where she hosted “NBA Countdown” and served as the lead reporter for significant events.
