The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) Board of Directors, along with General Manager and CEO Collie Greenwood, have disclosed Mr. Greenwood's imminent retirement.
Chief Customer Experience Officer Rhonda Allen has been appointed as the interim GM/CEO.
Having joined MARTA in July 2019 as Chief of Bus Operations and Urban Planning, Mr. Greenwood ascended to Deputy General Manager of Operations in 2021, ultimately becoming GM/CEO in January 2022.
A citizen of Canada, Mr. Greenwood is in the process of obtaining his Permanent Resident Card. As a precaution against the expiration of his work permit on June 18, 2025, he has ceased working and officially delegated his authority to Ms. Allen. While his Canadian visa remains valid, Mr. Greenwood's immigration process has influenced his career trajectory.
Reflecting on this change, Mr. Greenwood expressed gratitude to MARTA for their unwavering support and noted that this decision offers precious time with loved ones. His tenure brought significant achievements including the highest AAA bond rating and groundbreaking transit initiatives.
MARTA Board Chair Jennifer Ide acknowledged his knowledge and leadership, expressing best wishes for his future. The Board plans to form a committee to initiate the search for a new GM/CEO.
