Hon. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, the Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs and a prominent events promoter, has strongly criticized the violence that erupted between singers Pallaso and Alien Skin during the recently concluded “Empele Festival” in Buloba.

In his statement, Hon. Balaam expressed disappointment over the altercation and called for strict measures against artists and their entourages involved in violent behavior.
He emphasized the need for discipline and decency in the arts industry to safeguard its reputation and promote peaceful coexistence.
The minister announced a series of consequences for those found guilty of such misconduct. “Effective immediately, as a promoter and through our agency, we shall not associate with or promote any artist affiliated with gangs or involved in violence against others,” he stated.
Hon. Balaam outlined the following penalties:
Offenders will be banned from performing at any events organized by his agency for six months.
Mandatory behavior change programs will be required before any reconsideration for bookings.
He urged fellow stakeholders in the arts sector to adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward violence and join efforts to foster discipline and professionalism among artists.
