A medical helicopter accident on a California highway resulted in injuries to three individuals, including a woman who became trapped beneath the aircraft. On Monday evening, the helicopter overturned on State Route 50, littering the busy highway with debris. It had just taken off from a hospital after delivering a patient when it faced an in-flight emergency around 7 p.m., as reported by Captain Justin Sylvia of the Sacramento Fire Department. The pilot, a nurse, and a paramedic sustained critical injuries; however, remarkably, no bystanders on the highway were hurt. Eyewitnesses recounted observing the helicopter plummeting swiftly, which prompted nearby drivers to reduce their speed. In a concerted effort involving approximately 15 individuals, the helicopter was lifted slightly to rescue the trapped woman, who was then promptly transported to an ambulance. The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are now investigating the Airbus EC-130 T2 crash.
