Trailblazer Pamela Simms-Mackey: The First Black Woman to Lead the American Board of Pediatrics

Pamela Simms-Mackey, a distinguished HBCU alumna, has made history as the first Black woman to assume the role of president for the American Board of Pediatrics’ board of directors. Since joining the organization in 2009, Dr. Simms-Mackey has contributed significantly as part of various committees. Currently, she leads pediatrics and oversees graduate medical education at Alameda Health System in California. Additionally, she enhances the field as a volunteer clinical professor at the University of California, San Francisco.
