Kampala City Pastor, Martin Ssempa has claimed that he narrowly escaped two assassination attempts on his life while carrying out road construction work at his home in Jungo Kasanje over the weekend.

In a statement, Pastor Ssempa recounted the harrowing experience, saying he was ambushed twice by two cars, each carrying six individuals.
Despite the apparent danger, he managed to survive both encounters unharmed.
Pastor Ssempa suspects that the attacks may have been orchestrated by either military-related land grabbers or individuals with malicious intent.
Following the incidents, he sought assistance from the police, who provided him with an escort to ensure his safe passage to the highway.
In response to his narrow escape, Pastor Ssempa reportedly purchased a bottle of red wine to celebrate what he described as a “providential escape.”
He also expressed the urgent need for increased security, given the gravity of the situation.

Pastor Ssempa concluded his statement with a traditional Ugandan saying, “Genda olye enkoko yo,” which translates to “Go and eat your chicken,” implying that one should appreciate their good fortune in times of danger.
