Paul Pierce Opens Up About His DUI Arrest

Paul Pierce was detained late Tuesday night after the California Highway Patrol discovered him dozing behind the wheel of a Range Rover SUV on U.S. Highway 101, located in Los Angeles. In a message shared on Threads Thursday, Pierce attributed the incident to feeling “old” and “tired.” He explained that the CHP's decision to close lanes for nearly an hour due to an accident contributed to the situation. He remarked, “Imagine being stuck in standstill traffic for 45 mins and falling asleep,” and added, “I took this picture that night because I’ve never been in standstill traffic for this long.” Accompanying his statement was a photo of numerous vehicles with their brake lights aglow. Notably, Pierce did not address allegations regarding alcohol consumption before his slumber. It remains unclear if he will encounter any legal repercussions, as the CHP stated they are preparing to present the case to the L.A. City Attorney’s Office for review.
