Police Central Division Records Highest Serious Crime Numbers

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has recorded 1699 offences for the year thus far, which is more than the 1643 offences recorded in 2023. These figures were disclosed during a recently held RSLPF press conference.
According to Acting Police Sergeant 372 Robinson, the Central Division recorded the majority of serious crime, accounting for 59% of the total incidents.
The Northern Division followed with 21%, while the Southern Division made up 20% of the total, which was 1,699 cases.
He notes that the Central Division also accounted for the most murders for the year thus far. “The Central Division accounted for the majority of murders for the period under review, with 28 or 42% of the total recorded cases.
The Northern Division followed closely with 24 cases of 36%. The Southern Division recorded the least number of cases with a total of 15 or 23%,” he said.
From January to October, the drug unit conducted 71 operations island wide, resulting in significant seizures and the destruction of illegal drugs.
During this period, a large number of cannabis plants were destroyed and 2477 kilograms of cocaine was also recovered. That is significantly higher than any other year.
